Shanghai Stock Exchange News According to CCTV News Client on February 25, recently, the General Office of the Hainan Provincial Committee and the General Office of the Hainan Provincial People's Government jointly issued the Implementation Plan for the Comprehensive Prohibition of the Production, Sale and Use of Disposable Non-degradable Plastic Products in Hainan Province. Hainan Provincial Information Office held a press conference to interpret the relevant content.

According to the person in charge of the Hainan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, last year the Central Committee Document No. 12 explicitly proposed that the production, sale and use of disposable non-degradable plastic bags and tableware should be banned in Hainan. In order to implement the decision-making plan of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and to ensure that Hainan's ecological environment can only be better and not worse, Hainan Province has formulated this plan, which is also one of the landmark measures to promote Hainan's national ecological civilization pilot area.

According to the plan, the comprehensive ban on plastic industry in Hainan will be steadily promoted by industry classification. By the end of this year, a list banning the production, sale and use of disposable non-degradable plastic products was issued. By the end of 2020, the production, sale and use of disposable non-degradable plastic bags and plastic tableware included in the list were completely prohibited in the province.

Relevant persons also introduced that Hainan will establish a certification system for all biodegradable plastics products to meet the requirements of plastic ban before they can be marketed and used. At present, the technology of biodegradable plastics is relatively mature, the materials can basically be made in China, and the expansion speed is relatively fast, which can meet the replacement needs of Hainan Province after the "plastic ban". Hainan is encouraging all-biodegradable plastic products enterprises to invest in Hainan. The enterprises producing plastic products in Hainan Province will also transform to the direction of producing biodegradable products.
